The techno band Crystal Method remixed "Bizarre Love Triangle" on their latest CD, titled "Community Service II."
I like the fact that they stayed fairly true to the original, including all the vocals and using some of the drum sounds, synth lines and bass lines (unlike the extremely crappy Armand Van Helden remix from "The Rest of new Order").
I still need to listen to this mix a few more times to decide if I think it's an improvement or not.

Thu, June 2, 2005 - 6:34 PMpersonally, i think 'bizarre love triangle' is too finely crafted a song to think anything could be an improvement...

Thu, September 29, 2005 - 1:01 PMNot an improvement, but it is a great DJ record, that entire Crystal Method record has good remixes that are above all 'recent'.

Mon, October 3, 2005 - 10:53 PMI guess you aren't aware of the Sunkist commercial that they did to the tune of Blue Monday.
Here's an excerpt from an interview with Bernard ( www.neworderonline.com/Common/Topic.aspx )
"How does it feel/When you're drinking in the sun? Something something/Sunkist is the one/How does it feel/When you're drinking in the sun/All you've got to believe/Is Sunkist is the one." I didn't write them. We got offered £100,000 to do it. I kept laughing when I was singing it, so Hooky (Peter Hook, New Order bassist) got a piece of card and wrote "£100,000" on it, held it up, and I sang it perfectly. But then Rob Gretton (New Order's late manager) turned up and he put the kibosh on it. There's a remix of Blue Monday by Steve "Silk" Hurley and it's got the Sunkist lyrics on it. -

Tue, October 4, 2005 - 10:32 AMI kind of respect their seemingly lack of artistic integrity. It's corporation sleazy and at the same time very Andy Warhol-esque. Then again I’m okay with monks and yogis driving Ferraris.
